Squyr Privacy Policy

Last updated: 05/19/2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Squyr LLC ("Squyr", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit squyr.com and its subdomains (the "Site"). We've designed this Site to collect as little information as possible. The Site is a reference and education resource for the Squyr protocol. It does not require user accounts, does not host user-generated content, and does not sell or share information with anyone for commercial purposes.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • The marketing site at squyr.com and pages under that domain
  • The interactive demo at squyr.com/demo
  • The downloadable documents available at squyr.com/downloads

This Privacy Policy does not apply to:

  • The authenticated Squyr Portal at portal.squyr.com (separate privacy policy governs the portal — see portal.squyr.com/privacy)
  • The partner documentation site at docs.squyr.com (separate privacy policy)
  • Squyr' commercial site at summitaudiencesegments.com (separate privacy policy)

2. Information We Collect

We collect very limited information when you visit this Site.

Aggregate analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics service (Plausible or Fathom) that collects only aggregate, anonymous information: the page you visited, the country you visited from, the type of device you used, and how long you spent on the page. This information cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not use cookies for analytics, do not track you across other websites, and do not build behavioral profiles.

Document downloads. When you download a PDF from squyr.com/downloads, our analytics service records that a download occurred. No personal information is collected for downloads — they are direct downloads from your browser, not gated by any form. We know how many downloads occurred; we do not know who downloaded.

The demo at squyr.com/demo. The demo runs entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. All cryptographic operations performed in the demo use synthetic data generated locally on your device. No data from the demo is transmitted to Squyr's servers or any other party. The demo does not collect any information about you.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

To be clear about what we do not do:

  • We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact information through this Site.
  • We do not use tracking cookies.
  • We do not use marketing pixels or remarketing tags.
  • We do not use third-party advertising networks.
  • We do not share data with social media platforms.
  • We do not sell information to data brokers.
  • We do not transmit anything from the demo to our servers.
  • We do not gate any downloads behind email capture forms.

4. How We Use Information

We use the limited aggregate analytics described above to:

  • Understand which pages are most useful to visitors
  • Identify technical issues with the Site
  • Inform future improvements to the documentation and demo

We do not use the information for advertising, profiling, marketing outreach, or any commercial purpose beyond improving the Site.

5. Information Sharing

We do not share Site visitor information with third parties, except:

  • With the analytics service that provides our aggregate analytics — only the limited, anonymous data described above
  • If required by law, valid legal process, or to protect our legal rights or the safety of others
  • In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case any successor entity would assume the obligations of this Privacy Policy

6. Data Retention

Aggregate analytics data is retained by our analytics service for the period specified in that service's own policies (typically up to 24 months). Because the analytics data is anonymous and aggregate, it cannot be associated with a specific person. We do not retain any other information about Site visitors because we do not collect any other information.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection law, including:

California residents (under CCPA / CPRA): the right to know what information is collected about you, the right to delete information, the right to correct information, the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information about Site visitors. The aggregate, anonymous analytics described above are the only Site-level information collected.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland residents (under GDPR / UK GDPR): the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as applicable.

Other states: residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) may have similar rights under those laws. Because we collect such limited information through this Site, most of these rights are not directly applicable to our Site visitors. To inquire about your rights or to make a request, contact us at the address in Section 11 below.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Site is intended for technical, security, and commercial audiences evaluating cryptographic protocols.

9. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. The downloadable PDFs are served from secure infrastructure. The demo runs entirely in your browser. We follow reasonable practices to protect against unauthorized access to the Site's infrastructure. No internet-facing service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at squyr.com/privacy with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the policy. Continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Last updated: 05/19/2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of squyr.com and its subdomains (the "Site"). The Site is operated by Squyr LLC ("Squyr", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to:

  • The marketing site at squyr.com and pages under that domain
  • The interactive demo at squyr.com/demo
  • The downloadable documents available at squyr.com/downloads

Separate terms govern portal.squyr.com (the authenticated Squyr product), docs.squyr.com (partner documentation), and summitaudiencesegments.com (Squyr's commercial site).

2. Permitted Use

The Site is provided as a reference and education resource for the Squyr protocol. You may:

  • Browse, read, and view all pages of the Site for any lawful purpose
  • Download, view, print, and share the non-proprietary documents available at squyr.com/downloads, in their unmodified form, with attribution to Squyr
  • Reference and link to the Site from other sources

You may not:

  • Use the Site or its contents in a manner that violates applicable law
  • Attempt to access non-public portions of the Site or related systems
  • Attempt to disrupt the Site's operation, including denial-of-service or excessive automated requests
  • Use the Site or its contents to develop a competing protocol or service that copies Squyr's specific architectural approach
  • Modify, repackage, or commercially redistribute the downloadable documents
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice from the Site or its contents
  • Misrepresent the nature, source, or authorship of the Site's contents

3. Intellectual Property

Squyr and Bilateral Cryptographic Data Exchange are trademarks of Squyr LLC. All Site content — including text, graphics, illustrations, the architecture diagram, the cryptographic protocol description, the downloadable documents, and the source code that powers the Site and demo — is owned by Squyr or its licensors.

Non-proprietary documents at squyr.com/downloads may be shared in their original, unmodified form for non-commercial reference and educational purposes. The documents themselves remain Squyr's intellectual property. Redistribution for commercial gain, modification, derivative works, or repackaging is not permitted without Squyr's prior written consent.

The Squyr protocol described on this Site is a specific architectural configuration of standard cryptographic primitives developed by Squyr. While the underlying primitives (SHA-256, HKDF-SHA256, AES-256-GCM, ED25519) are publicly specified RFCs and not owned by anyone, Squyr's specific implementation, reference clients, architectural designs, and operational documentation are proprietary and are not licensed to the public through this Site.

4. The Demo

The interactive demo at squyr.com/demo is provided for educational and illustrative purposes. The demo runs entirely in your browser. The cryptographic operations shown are real (real SHA-256, real AES-256-GCM, real HKDF-SHA256 via the Web Crypto API), but the data shown is synthetic and generated locally on your device. No data from the demo is transmitted to Squyr or any other party. The demo does not constitute a representation of how production Squyr deployments operate at scale. Production Squyr deployments use additional infrastructure — KMS-backed key management, bilateral mutual TLS or pre-signed S3 transport, hash-chained audit ledgers — described in the Squyr Protocol White Paper available at squyr.com/downloads.

5. No Warranties

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Squyr disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Site contains technical and protocol information presented for educational reference. Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, regulatory, security, or compliance advice. Decisions about whether Squyr or any cryptographic protocol fits a particular partnership context should be made in consultation with qualified counsel, security professionals, and compliance officers familiar with the specific use case.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Squyr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or related to your access to or use of the Site, even if Squyr has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Squyr's total cumulative liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Squyr LLC, its officers, members, employees, and agents, from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at squyr.com/terms with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the Terms. Continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Changes to the Site

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Site or any portion of it.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.

11. Entire Agreement, Severability, Waiver

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Squyr regarding the Site, and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Squyr's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
